Hygiene and Handwashing in School

Please find below the latest information received from the DfE up to this date:

DfE Information March 2020

Handwashing Arrangements:

Current advice on Coronavirus is to wash your hands regularly with soap and warm water whilst singing Happy Birthday twice.

We have introduced the following protocols for washing hands, all pupils should wash their hands:

On entry to school
Before and after play
Before and after lunch

Pupils should cough or sneeze into a tissue which is disposed of immediately and must then wash their hands.

Hand Sanitiser

With regard to hand sanitiser, this is not a requirement, however if you wish your child to have hand sanitiser in school please send in a TRAVEL SIZE bottle which is clearly labelled with your child’s name and class.

Please remind your child it is for their own personal use and not to share it with other children.

If your child has an allergy to any ingredients in hand sanitiser please inform the school if you have not already done so.
