Meeting 5th July 2018

Sports Day - There was positive feedback for the school sports day and the addition of the outside clubs (Old Loughtonians Hockey and Epping Upper Clapton Rugby Club) running some sessions.  A special mention needs to go to Mr Johnson who enthusiastic approach to every pupil was particularly praised.

School Trips - There was a request for a breakdown of school trip costs e.g. travel, entry costs etc.  It was explained that the school has to get three quotes for transport from the Essex County Council approved list and then has to take the lowest.  Suggestions were made for maybe having businesses sponsoring school trips and this idea will be passed onto the school’s Income Generating Group.

School Houses - It was explained that pupils are put into different houses at the start of the school year and this changes annually.  Logistically, keeping the pupils (and siblings) in the same house throughout their period at the school was difficult.  The idea of changing the house names from colours to something more exciting would be considered.

School Clubs - The range of clubs for each year group depends on the availability of  teachers.  With regard to a specific languages club, these have be run before and the attendance has been low, however this is not to say that they will not be run again. The school does run language days on a two year cycle.

School Uniform - The school will be changing to purple tops for PE from September.

Additional Financial Contributions - The schools Income Generating Group will be developing a plan for the 2018/2019 year.

External Sports Events Attendance - This year a total of 39 pupils have not attended an externally run sports event (this number includes those who chose not to attend or could not attend because of illness). The school has achieved the Area Partnership Gold Award and the West Essex Bronze Award for sports event attendance.
