Remote Learning
While the school is open only for restricted attendance and remote learning due to the current pandemic we will be continuing to make educational provision for our pupils.
Our staff have been working incredibly hard, and imaginatively, to create learning opportunities to engage our pupils and ensure they continue to make progress in line with our curriculum at home. We are committed to giving pupils access to learning activities which will meet their needs and build on prior learning. Staff will use Microsoft Teams to deliver online learning daily during the current period of restricted attendance and remote learning.
Our provision will be as follows:
The teachers will host a daily meeting for pupils to attend.
The timing of this will be consistent each day and will be staggered across year groups. During this time, teachers may:
- Give an outline of the day learning tasks
- Introduce a new maths and writing learning objective
- Celebrate and share work
- Host a PSHE/Well-being session
- Provide an opportunity for pupils to ask questions about learning
Meetings with teachers will take place using Microsoft Teams. The link for these meetings will be shared via Pupil Asset.
Home Learning plans will be posted on Class Dojo every Friday ready for the following week.
There will be daily Maths and English tasks as well as weekly lessons linked to other areas of learning. Pupils should post all the learning tasks for the day on Class Dojo, teachers will acknowledge and provide a comment on work submitted on a daily basis.

Class Dojo
Class Dojo is used as a fantastic communication tool, between the school, teachers, pupils, parents and carers. We also use it for rewarding pupils' behaviour and attitudes to learning.
Staff have worked together to decide the Green and Red behaviours for which Dojo points are awarded. This term we have set our Class Dojos to represent the home learning that is happening. These will be reviewed after February Half term.
- Not following the rules of remote learning/ being off task means using the chat function inappropriately (should only be used to ask the teacher a question).
- Not being ready to learn, for example, not dressed appropriately ( still in pyjamas), eating during the sessions, playing with toys, or trying to take photos of the sessions.
These learning sessions help to develop routine and remind pupils of school expectations. This will help them settle back into school quickly once we are able to have all pupils back on site.
It would be wonderful if all pupils could share wellbeing more than once a week and if they posted more than 5 pieces of work a week, however we also understand the pressure of working from home and remote learning and therefore want to make our dojos manageable and successful for all pupils
